My interest in drawing? Well, a lot of artists like to say I've been drawing as long as I can remember - in my case it was a lot about prooving to myself that I could become decent at something, as everyone seemed to have their thing and not I.

1997, my family first got connected to the WWW from our home computer, and that's where the magic happened. I found a various of digital and online artists, was fascinated by it and thought: hey, I wanna do this too! So basically I started by drawing digitally with the mouse, and learnt drawing better with traditional mediums as time passed. 2001 I got my first Wacom tablet, a Graphire 1.

2002 I attended to an animation school and found the affection for animation. I graduated 2005, and also found interest in drawing comics with the help from Agnes and my brother. Since then I have been working on a various of projects gradually - to be able to showcase my work on the yearly Small Press Expo - fanzine convention in Stockholm.

2006 I applied and got accepted to a school related to graphic design within the Video Game medium. It was a choice I made since the graphic design in video game developing has a lot to do with animation, illustration, design and storytelling. Within my animation standards, I have also known that it would be good with some 3D animation knowledge.

If you came here with the interest in commissioning/hiring me, there is more information about it here: commissions :) In case it's on a more professional level - please contact me here:

The Homepage

Opened: November 29th, 1998
Domain created: June 1999

I have been showcasing my artwork online since 1998 November 29th. The first name for my online galleries was "Karin Rindevall's", and nothing more. A couple of weeks passed and I changed the name to "Karin Rindevall's Manga Page!". Of course, back there the anime and manga style was a huge influence, but ironically there was no mangas to be read at my homepage at all.

That's why I - in April 1999 - decided to change name on my homepage. I started to call it the Broken Palace, and that's been the title for my homepage ever since then. Lately I haven't made much attention to the title, since all I want my visitors to know is that my homepage is located at www.karrey.com and it's about my work.

A lot of people tend to mention that I have so many titles and weird expressions tossed around on my homepage, that it gets hard to keep track of. Therefore, I have made a list of words, titles and expressions for those who are interested to look things up. Go here: Karrey's Dictionary

Every year I spend a lot of money to keep this place alive. If you
have a couple of dollar to spare I'd truly appriciate a donation. :)

The Characters

Like you can see on the news page, I have a lot of different projects going on, both art and writing wise. Most of these include characters, concepts, environments that I designed. Therefor, for art trade matters and interest I have made a little showcase with references and information about these characters and respective worlds. :)
